Thousands of liters of liquor has been recovered in the action taken by the Excise Department team and police in Patna, Bhojpur and Kaimur districts on Saturday. On the basis of secret information, the team of Excise Department in Patna on Saturday morning recovered 228 cartons of English liquor from the cellar built in a six-wheeler truck loaded with chaff near Transport Nagar Gate No. 2 of Agamkuan police station area. The team has arrested the truck driver and confiscated his mobile. The seized truck is from Uttar Pradesh. The product department team is investigating.
2942 liters of liquor seized in Patna
Excise Department Inspector Manoj Kumar Rai said that Assistant Commissioner Deenbandhu had received secret information that liquor had been brought in a truck that had come to Patna from Punjab, which was to be emptied near Transport Nagar. After this information, the Assistant Commissioner formed a team under the leadership of the Excise Inspector. The formed team included Excise Inspector Kulwant Kumar and Inspector Narendra Kumar along with others. The team raided and searched the truck loaded with straw parked in a suspicious condition, then found 228 cartons of liquor hidden in the basement, which is 2942 liters in about six thousand bottles.
The price of liquor may be around Rs 35 lakh
The product inspector said that the estimated price of English liquor made in Punjab could be around Rs 35 lakh. In this case, truck driver Nishant Singh, resident of Amritsar Siara, Punjab, has been arrested. The arrested driver told during interrogation that the liquor was to be taken forward on the behest of the person who ordered it. The police have seized the driver’s mobile and are checking the call details to find out who had ordered the liquor. The team is checking the number of the truck.
Huge quantity of liquor recovered in Bhojpur also
Here, Bahoranpur OP police of Bhojpur district, while taking action against the liquor traders, on Saturday caught a huge consignment of liquor loaded on a car. During this time, the police also caught a businessman traveling in a car. The name of the arrested businessman is Manoj Kumar, who is the son of Umesh Prasad Yadav alias Bhim Yadav, resident of Amarpura Paliganj village of Patna district. According to the information, OP in-charge Abhay Kumar Singh received secret information that liquor was being brought to Bihar by boat from Uttar Pradesh after crossing the Ganga river. After receiving information that this consignment of liquor was being loaded on a car to Bihar, the OP in-charge laid his trap at Bahoranpur Dam of the area. During this time, the police stopped Bengal number Hyundai car, interrogated it and searched it and a huge quantity of liquor was recovered from the trunk of the car. OP in-charge told that at 8 PM, 288 packets of liquor filled in six boxes of liquor, 72 bottles of Royal Stage of 750 ml each, 24 bottles of 750 ml of Royal Stage Barrel, Blander Pride were recovered from the trunk of the car. 12 bottles of liquor of 750 ml quantity have been recovered. OP police is busy seizing liquor and car and identifying other businessmen involved in the case.
200 liters of liquor recovered from auto in Kaimur, two businessmen arrested
Excise department police have arrested two businessmen with 200 liters of liquor in an auto near Chhajjupur Pokhara in Durgavati police station area of Kaimur district. According to the information, one is said to be Monu Kumar, son of Lalan Prasad Gupta, resident of Bhaluwari village of Dehri Indrapuri police station area, while the other is said to be Sonu Goswami, son of late Naresh Goswami, resident of Bastipur BMP village of the same police station area. The auto was seized by the team of excise inspector Vineet Prasad and brought to the excise police station. In this case, action was taken under the Production Act and both of them were medically examined and sent to judicial custody.
Smuggler arrested with 638 liters of English liquor, car seized
The Excise Department police have arrested a smuggler with 638 liters of English liquor from a car near Awari village on the Bhabua-Mohaniya road in Kaimur. The arrested smuggler is said to be Deepu Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar Das, resident of Gandhinagar Ward 31 of Begusarai police station area. According to the information, on the instructions of Excise Superintendent Rakesh Kumar, the Excise Department police arrested the smuggler with 638 liters of liquor in his car near Aavari village. After medical examination, the arrested smuggler has been sent to judicial custody. Also, the car was seized by the Excise Police and brought to the Excise Police Station.
