Although, he had last become CM in the year 2018, but he stepped down from the post of CM just a few months after the rebellion of former Congress leader and current central government minister Jyotiraje Scindia. Former CM Kamal Nath has been MP from Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat of MP 9 times. Congress leader Kamal Nath has deep connections with Bareilly. His native village Atarchhedi is in Amla tehsil. There was a celebration in Atarchhedi when Kamal Nath became the CM last time. This time also there are preparations for celebration. Kamal Nath’s father, who has held the responsibility of Cabinet and Minister of State several times in the Central Government, had three brothers.

His family was associated with bullion business. Kamalnath’s father Dr. Mahendranath was a scholar of Sanskrit. Many decades ago, he along with his family of three brothers had settled in Kanpur. From there his family went to Madhya Pradesh. His ancestral house has become ruins. Before going to Kanpur, his father gave a part of his house to Karan Singh of the village. Now Karan Singh’s grandson lives in Kamal Nath’s house. However, some people say that Kamal Nath is originally from West Bengal and some from Kanpur. But, his roots are connected to Bareilly and Kanpur. His mother’s name is Leela Nath, wife’s name is Alka Nath and two sons. He built a palace-like house in Shikarpur village of Chhindwara. He also has a house at 1, Tughlaq Road in New Delhi.

Elder uncle received Padma Shri

The people of the village told that Baba Kedarnath of Kamalnath had built a big mansion in the village. His father Dr. Mahendranath was the youngest of three brothers. His uncle Dr. Dharmendranath, who received the Padma Shri award, was also the chairman of the Allahabad Board. After this he settled there. Kamalnath’s younger uncle Dr. Satyendranath settled in Delhi and started the business of spare parts. Let us tell you that Dr. Mahendranath used to study in Meerut College with his father-in-law Kunwar Devendra Singh. Dr. Mahendranath had moved to Kolkata about 60 years ago. There he established the EMC factory. Made his village’s close friend Kunwar Devendra Singh the MD of the company. Always kept them together. Whenever he returned to his native village, he used to bring a friend along with him. The people of the village told that they had left the village after getting fed up with the bullies. He also opened a school in the estate and mansion.

Sanjay Gandhi’s class fellow

Kamal Nath was born on 18 December 1946. Was Sanjay Gandhi’s classmate in Dehradun. Kamal Nath’s early education took place in Niketan, Dehradun. Indira Gandhi’s son Sanjay Gandhi also studied there. It was only after his friendship with Sanjay that he came close to the Gandhi family. Kamal Nath first took over his father’s business and then started trying his hand in politics under the patronage of the Gandhi family. In 1971, he contested the Lok Sabha elections and became an MP for the first time. After this he was elected MP 9 times consecutively. He served as a minister many times in the Congress government, including the Union Textiles Minister.

Was fond of fishing in childhood

The people of the village told that in childhood, Kamal Nath was fond of fishing. At that time his age would have been around 11 years. He is the son of his father’s third wife. It is also told that Dr. Mahendranath was also a teacher in the government school of Atarchhedi village. Some bullies of the village used to misbehave unnecessarily in the school. Troubled by this, Mahendranath also left his property in the village. Had got schools opened in his mansion.

CM Shivraj is also an old politician

Outgoing CM of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan is a very old politician. He has been CM 4 times. He became MLA from Budhni assembly constituency for the first time in 1990. After this, in 1991, he became MP for the first time from Vidisha Lok Sabha parliamentary constituency. Shivraj Singh Chauhan became the convener of All India Keshariya Vahini in 1991-92 and the general secretary of All India Janata Yuva Morcha in 1992. Was appointed State General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party from 1992 to 1994. Became CM for the first time in 2003. Shivraj Singh Chauhan is 14 years younger than Kamal Nath.
