Bareilly : A court in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district has convicted two accused in the murder of a 19-year-old youth on suspicion of illicit relations. Holding both of them guilty in this eight-year-old case, the court has sentenced them to life imprisonment and fined Rs 40,000. Both of them had murdered a 19-year-old youth with an ax on the suspicion of illegal relations with a woman of the family. After eight years, the court has sentenced both of them.

Government advocate Mahesh Kumar Yadav said on Thursday that Additional Sessions Judge (IX) Pratibha Saxena, after hearing both the sides, convicted Man Singh and Anoop Singh, accused in the case, on Wednesday and sentenced them to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 40,000. He said that on November 27, 2014, Ramkumari, a resident of Kuan Danda, lodged a complaint at Bhuta police station in Bareilly district. In the complaint, the woman had alleged that her 19-year-old son Niranjan Singh was attacked and killed with sticks and rods on suspicion of having an illicit relationship with a woman from Mansingh’s family, a resident of her village.

Court sentenced life imprisonment

In this case, a murder case was registered against persons named Mansingh, Shyam Singh and Anoop Singh. Shyam Singh had died during the process of the case. The court sentenced the remaining two convicts to life imprisonment today.
