Ittehad-e-Millat Council (IMC) chief Maulana Tauqeer Raza in Bareilly had announced the arrest after Friday prayers. However, after an uproar that lasted for 3 hours, Tauqeer was returned by the police. Due to which the mob started beating and pelting stones in Shyamganj area. After which the police also lathicharged some people. In this case, 2 cases were registered against 110 people in Baradari police station on Friday itself. But no arrest has been made yet. After 3 days of this disturbance, the police is still working to identify the unruly elements. At present, Baradari police has identified 12 miscreants from both sides and started a raid to arrest them. A police team is examining CCTV footage, mobile phone videos and photos and extracting clear faces of the miscreants. After this, those faces are being identified with the help of businessmen and eminent people of the concerned area. Along with the photo, a record of name and address is being prepared.

However, deployment of force continues in the Kotwali area. Let us tell you that till Sunday evening, 12 accused from both the sides have been identified. Police is searching for the press and accused who published inflammatory pamphlets
At the same time, the police is busy locating the printing press that had printed the pamphlets calling for attending the IMC programme. After the program was announced at Islamia Maidan, inflammatory posters were distributed across the district. The police have registered a report against unknown accused and have started the work of identifying them. Efforts are also being made to locate the printing press that printed the inflammatory posters and identify the operator. These posters were distributed from Bareilly to Uttarakhand. Also reached many cities through social media. Police believe that if the printing press operator is found, the name and address of the person who got the poster printed will also be revealed. Kotwal Sadar Dinesh Sharma said that the police is also identifying the miscreants distributing pamphlets.
Why did Tauqeer Raza announce his arrest?
It is noteworthy that on February 4, Ittehad-e-Millat Council (IMC) chief Maulana Tauqeer Raza called the media to his residence at Dargah Ala Hazrat. He further said that when we cannot do anything then it is better to get ourselves arrested than to have such freedom. There is a lot of anger among the people. I appeal to everyone not to do anything that sends a wrong message. Whatever demonstration or protest happens, do it within the constitutional limits. I don’t trust the court. There is no trust in the investigating agency. Those who gave decision on Babri became Rajya Sabha members or were given high posts by the government. After which he talked about jail bharo movement. And said that I will start it from Friday. In which it was said on Friday that a bulldozer was run on a madrasa in Haldwani.
Then Tauqeer Raza offered namaz at Dargah Ala Hazrat on Friday. Later he said that if our youth answers, the situation in the country will worsen. We have seen excesses and atrocities. Our people were forcibly stopped. We controlled our youth. Hindu organizations are acting dishonestly on the strength of the government. The court is working as per faith. If some organizations are not controlled, there will be problems. If the government wants riots, we are ready. My demand is that Mufti Salman Azhari should be released, why is the bulldozer action being taken? Present the accused before the court.
