Five people of the same family were burnt alive to death in Faridpur town in Bareilly, UP. Among those killed are husband and wife and their three innocent children. Five people were sleeping in one room. When smoke was seen rising early on Sunday morning, people nearby informed the police and fire brigade. On getting information about the incident, police officers along with the force also reached the spot. When the team reached inside, everyone there was dead. Police suspect that the house caught fire due to short circuit or some other reason. The family was sleeping, so perhaps by the time they came to know about it, the fire had become so severe that they could not come out. Another suspicion is that everyone died due to smoke filling the room. However, the police has started investigation on other angles also. According to the information, Ajay Gupta alias Tinkle was a confectioner. He lived with his family on rent in a relative’s house in Farrakhpur Mohalla of Faridpur for three years. According to the police, the deceased are Ajay Gupta alias Tinkle (36), his wife Anita Gupta (34) and three children – Divyansh (9), Divyangya (6) and younger son Daksh (3). The whole family was sleeping in the room on Saturday night. It is also coming to light that the heater is running in the room. In the morning, a young man living in the neighborhood saw that the door was closed. Smoke was rising from the house. After this he told the people nearby about it. Within no time a crowd gathered nearby. Then informed the police. The police arrived on information and broke the door and took everyone out.

The neighbor gave this information

The neighbor says that Ajay Gupta was found in the night itself. The family went to sleep after having dinner at night. We did not even get a hint of the fire. Nor was there any sound of anyone screaming. When I woke up in the morning, I saw a crowd of people gathered outside Ajay’s house. When people were asked, they told that everyone had died in the fire. The investigation by the forensic team has revealed that there are 2 rooms in Ajay Gupta’s house. The room where the family was sleeping. Two iron heaters were found installed in the electrical board in that room. The room has a wooden door. There was no latch inside it. At night the family would put their hands from inside and lock it from outside. Rajesh, who lives in the neighbourhood, told the police that we had told Ajay many times to get the room where he sleeps locked from inside.

CM Yogi expressed grief

The forensic team believes that the fire in the room was caused by a short circuit in the heater. The reason was that a heater wire was burnt. Everyone’s faces were found blackened. The clothes are burnt and stuck to the body. All the stuff kept in the room was burnt. The scene was so horrific that people’s souls trembled. The bodies of Ajay Gupta, his wife and children were not found near the door. Due to this, the police and forensic team believe that there was no attempt to escape or open the door when the fire broke out. As soon as information about the tragic incident was received, all the officers including SSP Ghule Sushil Chandrabhan reached the spot. Informed the people nearby. Along with SDM, Tehsildar, Executive Officer of Municipality Dr. Nitin Kumar Gangwar also reached the spot. Gas cylinder was found kept in the room. After the incident, the relatives of the deceased are in bad condition and crying. Whereas SP Dehat Bareilly Mukesh Chandra Mishra said that investigation is being done at the spot.
