Bareilly: Janrath bus stopped in the middle of the road to offer namaz, driver suspended, operator’s contract terminated

Bareilly : The driver of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation’s (Roadways) Bareilly depot’s AC Janrath bus stopped at Rampur and offered Namaz to two Muslim passengers has been suspended. Along with this, the contract of the operator has been terminated. This complaint was made by a passenger on Twitter. After this action was taken. But, it has been opposed by the UP Roadways Employees Union.

In fact, 3 days ago on Saturday night Janrath AC bus (Kaushambi) of Bareilly Depot had left for Delhi. However, Janrath AC bus number UP 32 N 0330 is accused of stopping the bus before Rampur district and offering prayers. When the passengers asked the conductor the reason for stopping the bus, it was found that two Muslim passengers in the bus were offering Namaz on the road. Due to this, the angry passengers created a ruckus. He said that 38 passengers faced problems in the affair of two passengers. Regarding this, a passenger named Satyendra complained about the episode by tweeting.

Action taken on the driver and operator after the tweet

In its complaint, driver Krishna Pal Singh and operator Mohit Yadav were found guilty. After this, on the instructions of RM, ARM (Assistant Regional Manager) Sanjeev Srivastava suspended the driver. With this, the services of the driver were terminated. The department has stopped the salary and other payments of both. However, the Employees Union has expressed anger in this matter. Ravindra Pandey, regional minister of UP Roadways Employees Union, termed the action as one-sided. He said that the MD has ordered that before taking action in any case, the side of the accused should also be heard. However, neither side was heard in this. Many times the passengers get the bus stopped by making pressure.

Accused of stopping the bus at a deserted place

The officers were also angry over the sudden stopping of the AC Janrath bus of Bareilly Depot at a deserted place. Regarding this, other drivers and conductors have also been given guidelines related to bus operation. The same Bareilly ARO Sanjeev Srivastava told that a complaint was received about stopping the Janrath AC bus on the way and offering Namaz on the middle of the road. After investigation, the driver has been suspended. The service of the operator has been terminated.
