Banda News: In a tragic accident on the festival of Rakshabandhan in Pailani police station area of Banda district of Uttar Pradesh, four children died due to drowning in the river. These people had gone with their family members to immerse Kajariya at the Gaila Ghat of the river flowing near Gurgawan in Pailani.

Meanwhile, seven people including a girl were washed away in the river due to slipping. Seeing everyone being swept away in the strong current, people pulled out two and saved them. Four people, including two cousins and two brothers and sisters, died in the accident. A missing child is still being searched. With the help of villagers, the police is searching for him.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, a huge crowd gathered on the banks of the river. In the midst of chaos, a heavy force including Superintendent of Police Ankur Aggarwal, Deputy Collector Shashibhushan Mishra and CO Sadar Ambuja Trivedi reached the spot.
According to local people, there was a crowd of devotees for Kajariya immersion in the river near village Gurgawan of Pailani on Wednesday. Children were also present along with women and men. While immersing in the river, suddenly seven people including a girl were swept away due to slipping of their feet.
Seeing the children drowning, the people present in the river saved Manish’s 12-year-old daughter Pavni and Ramautar’s 11-year-old daughter Akanksha by pulling them out of the water in time. There was a delay in taking out Ramvishal’s 14-year-old daughter Vijay Lakshmi, her cousin brother, eight-year-old Pushpendra, son of Dinesh, resident of village Arbai, Suryansh, five-year-old son of Lovelesh of Gurgaon and Rakhi, Ramkripal’s 19-year-old daughter, from the water.
The family took the four children to Jaspura CHC, where the doctors declared all of them dead. As soon as the information about the death was received, there was an outcry among the family members. The search for Ramsharan’s seven-year-old son Tanu is still going on in Yamuna river. Police are also taking help of local divers to find the child.
