Diesel Four Wheeler Ban In India: The government is very strict about increasing pollution in the country. A panel constituted by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has proposed a ban on diesel-powered four-wheelers by 2027 in cities with a population of more than one million. India should ban the use of diesel four wheelers by 2027 in cities with a population of over one million. A committee of the Ministry of Petroleum has recently said this in its report. Also, the committee said that electric and gas-powered vehicles should be promoted.
The committee, headed by former petroleum secretary Tarun Kapoor, in its report has also suggested phasing out motorcycles, scooters and three-wheelers with internal combustion engines by 2035. The committee submitted its report to the government in February this year. According to the report, there should not be a single diesel urban transport bus in urban areas in about 10 years.
