Lucknow . A sweet shop in Meerut is making ‘Bahubali Samosa’. The weight of each samosa is approximately 12 kg. For samosa lovers, the shopkeeper has also started a challenge, in which the customer will have to eat the whole samosa in 30 minutes. If anyone eats this samosa, he will be given a cash prize of Rs 71,000.
It takes 90 minutes for four artisans to fry the masala.
Ujjwal Kaushal, 30, is the third generation owner of Kaushal Sweets located in Meerut Lalkurti. He said, “Four cooks prepare a 12 kg samosa in six hours. The samosa is stuffed with 7 kg of traditional fillings like potatoes, peas, spices, paneer and dry fruits and it takes about 90 minutes to fry.” He said that he is getting orders from many people who prefer to cut a 12 kg samosa instead of a cake on their birthday.
The cost of one samosa of 12 kg is Rs 1500.
Kaushal’s family is in the business of sweets for more than 60 years. In July last year, he came up with the idea of making a giant samosa weighing 4 kg. “Looking at the response we got, we started making samosas of 8 kg and 12 kg. The cost is Rs 1,500 and we take orders in advance only.”

Delhi resident Sunita Pareek told, ‘She was on a road trip with her husband, cousin and his wife on the occasion of her cousin’s birthday. When we found ‘Bahubali Samosa’ while looking for snacks, we ordered it. Finding it fancy and unique for the festival, about 60 people including shopkeepers and local children ate the samosa. It was so big that I took the rest with me. Used them to make parathas the next day.
