There has been information about an encounter between the police and a criminal in Azamgarh late on Tuesday night. This encounter took place near Vahdagram Pandeypura under Raunapar police station area of the district. Azamgarh – Police on Dohrighat Road had started checking two days ago to arrest the accused in the case of fatal knife attack on a husband and wife over a land dispute. The wife had died in this incident. The atmosphere in Azamgarh was heated regarding this incident of murder. In such a situation, the police had woven a net to arrest the accused.
Information was received about the presence of the accused near Azamgarh-Dohrighat Road. The accused was identified during the investigation. The knife used during the attack on the husband and wife has been recovered from accused Atul Pandey. The two accused arrested by the police are Amarjeet and Rahul. At the behest of the arrested accused, four batteries, two refrigerators, washing machines and machines which were stolen along with a pistol were recovered from the said room. The arrested accused are being sent to the court from where they will be sent to jail. Along with this, the absconding accused are being searched.
