Lucknow. The inauguration of Ram temple in Ram Janmabhoomi Ayodhya is proposed in January 2024. Along with this, the district administration has launched the Home Stay-Paying Guest scheme for the local people to accommodate the passengers at their homes. Before the consecration of the temple, a plan has been made to motivate 1000 building owners to link them under this scheme.
40% rooms reserved for VIP visitors
Taking note of the build-up, Ayodhya Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal on Wednesday held a meeting with hoteliers of the city and directed them to prepare rooms for hassle-free stay of both domestic and foreign visitors. Though the consecration ceremony is likely to be held between January 15 and 24, many devotees have started booking rooms in the temple town for 10-12 days. There are over 100 hotels in Faizabad and Ayodhya, including plush, budget, affordable, unrecognized guest houses, besides dharamshalas and home stay-paying guest houses. In addition, there are four Government Guest Houses with a total of 35 rooms. Everyone has been asked to reserve 40 per cent of the rooms for ‘VIP visitors’.
Demand for 1,500 rooms in Ayodhya from Mumbai’s travel agency
Giving a report to the commissioner, the officials of the district administration have told that about 50 small guest houses are under construction in Ayodhya. It will be ready by November. Sharad Kapoor, managing director of Shan-e-Awadh, Ayodhya’s oldest hotel, said, “We are regularly getting calls from Delhi, Mumbai and other metro cities. As devotees want to book rooms for a fortnight. I am keeping at least 40 per cent rooms reserved for VIP visitors,” says Sharad Kapoor. Speaking to the media, Sangram Singh, a resort owner in Ayodhya, said: “We have a Mumbai-based travel agency to book rooms in Ayodhya for a week. There was a query for 1,500 rooms. Registration of 41 building owners under paying guest scheme
On Wednesday, the Divisional Commissioner also distributed registration certificates to 41 building owners under the Paying Guest Scheme. Commissioner Gaurav Dayal says that after the inauguration of the Ram temple, the number of devotees coming to Ayodhya will increase manifold. Many devotees will also do night stay. Hotel, guest house-home stay will be required. These home stays will not only give a home-like experience to the devotees but also generate additional income for the local people. Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal while addressing all the building owners said that in the coming days the grand Shri Ram temple will be consecrated. Along with this, the number of devotees coming to Ayodhya will increase by lakhs. Local residents will get additional income. Additional employment opportunities will also be created in the entire Ayodhya area. Inclusive development will be encouraged.
