Avtar Saini crushed by speeding cab

Former ‘country head’ of Intel India Avtar Saini died after being hit by a speeding cab while riding a bicycle in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. Police has given information in this regard. An official said that the accident occurred around 5.50 am on Wednesday when Saini (68) was cycling with his friends on Palm Beach Road in Nerul area. He told that the speeding cab hit Saini’s bicycle from behind and tried to run away from there.

The official said Saini was injured in the accident and was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Saini, a resident of suburban Chembur, is known for working on the workings of the ‘Intel 386’ and ‘486 microprocessors. He also played an important role in designing the company’s ‘Pentium Processor’. Police have registered an FIR against the cab driver under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. The accused has not been arrested yet.
