Action related to this is being taken in Patna and Muzaffarpur from April, 2023. This information was given by Additional Director General of Police (Traffic) Sudhanshu Kumar in a press conference held at the police headquarters on Wednesday.

Campaign will be intensified in four major cities under Smart City

Additional Director General of Police (Traffic) Sudhanshu Kumar said that action against violation of traffic control, regulation and rules will be expedited in four major cities of the state, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur and Biharsharif under Smart City. Under this, action is mainly taken on high speed, without helmet, without seat belt, riding three people and driving on the wrong side.

Till now, only 15 thousand motorcycle challans have been issued.

He said that people have become aware of traffic rules due to automatic e-challan in Patna. There has been a decrease in the number of e-challans here. In the last month, challans were issued to 54,000 motorcycles in Patna, while in August only 15,000 motorcycles have been issued challans. The ADG also thanked the local citizens for following the traffic rules.

7.28 crore recovered in Patna from 27 April to 20 August

ADG, Traffic, Sudhanshu Kumar said that from April 27 to August 20, challans were issued against a total of 74,797 vehicles in Patna city. A total of 18 thousand 55 challans have been issued in Muzaffarpur city from April 18 to August 21. He told that the facilities built under the Smart City project should be used more and more in the field of crime control and investigation along with traffic. The decision has been taken. For this, a team of Bihar Police will visit the site to study the functioning of the smart city project of Hyderabad or Mumbai.

1117 hand held devices given in all districts

ADG Traffic said that 1117 hand held devices have been given in all the districts. Out of these, a total of 845 devices have been given in 12 traffic districts. Due to this, the process of manual challan has stopped in these districts. Now e-challan is being issued with photographic evidence through this device. At the same time, the proposal for acceptance of traffic force in the remaining 28 districts has been sent to the Home Department.

Manual challan to be stopped in 12 traffic cities in Bihar

Manual challaning of vehicles is to be stopped in 12 traffic cities of Bihar. Electronic challans will be deducted in these cities. At present, the system of e-challan is implemented in Patna and Muzaffarpur smart cities, while trial is going on in Bihar Sharif and Bhagalpur. Along with these, arrangements are being made to deduct 100 percent automated challans from smart POS in Darbhanga, Gaya, Purnia, Katihar, Saran, Bhojpur, Begusarai and Munger.

Auto generated challan will be given

Under this system, auto-generated challan will be given to the driver in 12 cities instead of the fine receipt, on which the picture of the related traffic rule violation will also be recorded. Vehicle owners will also be able to see this challan online. Traffic ADG of Bihar Police Sudhanshu Kumar told that automatic challan is expected to start in 12 traffic cities from next month. Currently 479 smart POS are available with these districts, while 700 more smart POS are required which will be made available by the end of this month.

97 percent fine in Patna on those who do not wear helmets

ADG Traffic told that in Muzaffarpur and Patna, deduction of electronic (e) challans has started from the month of March-April. With the help of ANPR, PTZ and Bullet cameras installed in these cities, e-challans of those who violate traffic rules are being cut and sent to the vehicle owner’s mobile.

Case will be registered against those who do dangerous driving

ADG Traffic said that the Integrated Command Center has been connected with 402 km long OFC network and a large number of ANPR, Bullet and PTZ cameras. Through all these cameras, the picture of the violators is automatically saved in the system, which is verified at two levels before sending the challan. With the help of e-evidence, cases will now be registered against those who do dangerous driving.

Deposit the fine within 90 days, otherwise you will be trapped

The ADG said that there is a time limit of 90 days to deposit the fine. Meanwhile, notice is issued twice. If they do not, then their list will go to the Registration Authority ie DTO. After this, there may be problems in transfer, sale, permit etc. of the concerned vehicle.
