Auto Sales Report: India’s passenger vehicle sales are set to grow by 26.7 per cent in fiscal 2022-23 as chip shortages ease and demand for sport utility vehicles (SUVs) picks up, according to data released by auto industry body SIAM. The matter is known.

Domestic wholesale sales of passenger vehicles increased by 4.7 percent to 2,92,030 units in March compared to the same period a year ago. The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), an organization of vehicle manufacturers, has given this information.

In March last year, the sales of passenger vehicles stood at 2,79,525 units. SIAM said two-wheeler sales in the domestic market stood at 12,90,553 units last month, as against 11,98,825 units in the year-ago period.

Last month, the total wholesale sales of vehicles stood at 16,37,048 units, while in March 2022, 15,10,534 vehicles were sold. Sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market increased to 38,90,114 units in the financial year ended March 31, compared to 30,69,523 units in 2021-22.

SIAM said that the wholesale sales of two-wheelers in 2022-23 stood at 1,58,62,087 units, while in 2021-22 it was 1,35,70,008 units. In the financial year 2022-23, the total sales of vehicles in various categories increased to 2,12,04,162 units, which was 1,76,17,606 units in 2021-22. (with language input)
