Attention Many interstate criminals entered Bihar to loot, Purnia police arrested 14

Incidents of snatching and robbery on the road have become common these days in various districts of Bihar. These incidents are being carried out by members of an inter-provincial gang. This was revealed when Purnia Police arrested 14 criminals of inter-provincial gang together. Ten of the arrested criminals are residents of Orissa. The police have recovered a huge amount of silver, Rs 2 lakh in cash and other items from the arrested criminals. Police have also recovered a country-made pistol and five cartridges. These criminals used to carry out incidents on the lines of Kodha gang of Katihar.

These criminals were arrested

SP Aamir Javed said that out of the 14 arrested criminals, 10 are residents of Orissa. The culprits are four locals. These include Sanjay Pradhan, Umesh Pradhan, Michael Nagraj, Kalidas, Michael Rahul alias Alok from Jajpur district of Orissa and Devdas, Nagesh Das, Mahesh Das, Suresh Das, Aula Balram alias Ballu and Krishna Pradhan from Ganjam district. Other local arrested criminals include Chandan Marandi of Kodha in Katihar district, Pappu Rai of Dhobia Tola of Madhubani TOP and Mukesh Kumar of Chunapur Road Barmasia.

Gang is active in many districts of the state

SP said that gangs from Orissa are active in many districts of Bihar. The arrested criminals admitted that the recovered silver had gone missing from the shop in Darbhanga. Apart from this, Orissa gang has carried out many incidents in Patna also.

40 to 50 people are involved in Orissa gang

SP said that 40 to 50 people are involved in Orissa gang. All the members of the gang are residents of Jajpur and Ganjam in Orissa district. The arrested criminals told that these people had come to Purnia in the month of January and were living in a poultry farm located in Mehta Tola of Madhubani TOP area. He told that Orissa gang members come during the season and go back on their festival occasions. In urban areas, these people were carrying out criminal incidents like snatching after withdrawal of money from banks, snatching mobile phones and chains, theft in shops, stealing money from bike trunks etc.

Miscreants snatched two lakh rupees from a businessman in broad daylight in Patna.

On Friday, miscreants snatched Rs 2 lakh from businessman Hradayanand Singh in broad daylight in the street in front of gate number 97 of Digha police station in Patna. The businessman has a bean factory near the rice mill of Digha Banskothi. Hridayanand, for his work, withdrew Rs 2 lakh from Punjab National Bank, Ramnagari Mead branch, kept it in polythene and sat in the auto. He got down near Digha gate number 97 and went to the street for some work. Meanwhile, two miscreants riding a bike came from behind and went some distance ahead, parked the bike and started waiting for the businessman. After this the miscreants snatched Rs 2 lakh from him and ran away. The businessmen also ran after them but both of them escaped. The businessman basically lives near gate number 93, although he is originally from Vikramganj in Rohtas. On receiving information about the incident, Law and Order DSP Krishna Murari Prasad arrived with his team and investigated the incident site.

Both the miscreants were on bike and came chasing them from the bank.

After the incident, the police examined CCTV camera footage at many places. From which it became clear that after chasing the businessman from the bank itself, the miscreants riding on Pulsar bike reached Digha area and took advantage of the street being deserted and carried out the incident. The miscreants present inside the bank informed their associates about Hridayanand’s withdrawal of huge amount of money and then the miscreants went after him. The pictures of both the miscreants have been captured in the CCTV camera. One miscreant was wearing a helmet and the other was without a helmet. Both of them were wearing jeans pants. The police is trying to identify the miscreants on the basis of the photograph.
