New Delhi : There is a continuous increase in the manufacturing and sales of electric vehicles in India. In recent times, many electric cars, motorcycles, scooters and even new three-wheeler autos have been launched in the market. In this sequence, there is also news that India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturing company Ather Energy is also busy in expanding its portfolio. There is news that this company is going to launch a new series of electric scooter, which will come with a completely transparent body panel. The company has named this scooter Series 2. It claims that the transparent body panel of the scooter not only enhances its beauty but its elements can be easily seen. However, Ather Energy has not yet disclosed how much part of this scooter will be transparent.
Ather has also launched a scooter with translucent panel before
According to media reports, Ather Energy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tarun Mehta has mentioned this on his social media handle. He told in one of his posts that transparent panels will be used in the new electric scooter. For reference, Ather offered a Series 1 scooter with translucent panels and was labeled as a Collector’s Addition.
Ather 450S most affordable electric scooter
However, the company has not yet clarified whether the motor, hardware, design, battery and features will be used in Ather Series 2 like the current 450 lineup or not. Ather’s current lineup includes the 450S, 450X (2.9 kW) and 450X (3.7 kW). The S trim scooter is the most affordable model in the company’s portfolio, while the 450X (3.7 kW) is its top model.
Ather will continue selling 450 S
According to media reports, it is believed that even after the launch of Series 2, the company will continue selling its 450S electric scooter. The company has launched it recently and it is also the entry level variant for Ather customers. However, the same cannot be said about the 450X. Talking about Ather 450X Series 1, it was introduced in transparent black color with red color on the chassis.

Let us tell you that the ex-showroom price of Ather 450 S starts from Rs 1.30 lakh. This scooter is available in only one standard variant. Ather 450S electric scooter has a hub motor with 3 kWh lithium ion battery pack, through which it is capable of covering a range of 115 kilometers on full charge. This electric scooter has features like digital instrument console, digital speedometer, digital tripmeter, clock, passenger footrest, charging port, riding mode, LED headlight and taillight, LED turn signal lamp and low battery indicator.
