In the third T20 match, Gaikwad completed his first century in 52 balls by hitting a six off Maxwell. Maxwell gave 30 runs in the last over, due to which India scored 222 runs for three wickets in 20 overs. His brilliant century against Australia is the seventh fastest century by an Indian in the shortest format of the game. This century is Ruturaj Gaikwad’s fifth century in T20 cricket. Indian opener Gaikwad batted at a strike rate above 200 to register his first T20 century. Gaikwad is the highest run scorer in the five-match T20 series between India and Australia. At an average of 90.50, Gaikwad has scored 181 runs for the Indian team in the first three matches of the bilateral series.
