Arvind Kejriwal News: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, challenging his arrest and the remand order given by the lower court on March 22, said in his petition that both the arrest and the remand order are illegal and he deserves to be immediately released from custody. ED had arrested on March 21

It is known that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED team on March 21 from the CM residence after a long interrogation late at night. ED arrested CM Kejriwal while taking action in money laundering case related to liquor scam. At present, the court has sent Kejriwal on remand till March 28.

Kejriwal’s statement came out after his arrest

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal has given a statement for the first time after his arrest by ED. His wife Sunita read the message on Saturday, which was posted by the Aam Aadmi Party on its social media account. In the message, Kejriwal said that every moment of his life has been dedicated to serving the country. No jail can keep him inside and he will return soon. He also assured that it has never happened that he has failed to fulfill any promise. He also assured the women of the implementation of the scheme under which eligible beneficiaries will be given Rs 1000 every month.

K Kavita has also been arrested in liquor scam case

Last week, the ED had arrested Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and leader of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), in the liquor scam case. Currently, Kavita is in ED custody till March 23. The ED had recently alleged in a statement that BRS leader Kavita and some others had conspired with top AAP leaders like Kejriwal and Sisodia to get benefits in excise policy by paying Rs 100 crore to the Aam Aadmi Party.

It is noteworthy that this case is related to alleged corruption and money laundering in preparing and implementing Delhi Excise Policy for 2021-22. However, this policy was later canceled. AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh are in judicial custody in the case. ED alleges that the accused were in contact with Kejriwal to formulate excise policy.
