Arvind Kejriwal will remain in ED custody till April 1
Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case related to Delhi Excise Policy. On Thursday, Rouse Avenue Court extended the ED custody of the Chief Minister till April 1. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had demanded extension of Kejriwal’s custody period by 7 days.
Kejriwal ready to cooperate: Lawyer
During the remand hearing of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi Court, his lawyer Ramesh Gupta said, Kejriwal accepted that he is ready to cooperate and he has no objection to being in custody. We told the court that we oppose the grounds on which remand is being sought. The court will now grant remand because he has confessed before the court.
Kejriwal himself gave arguments in the court
After the ED remand ended, Arvind Kejriwal was brought to the Rouse Avenue Court for appearance on Thursday, and he himself presented the arguments in the court. He said that a false picture of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) being corrupt is being presented before the country. Kejriwal said in his argument, four witnesses have taken my name in the excise policy case. Are four statements enough to arrest a Chief Minister? He is ready to face the ED investigation.
