The great festival of faith, Chhath, was celebrated with great pomp in Tundi, Dhanbad. The festival ended with the offering of ‘Ardhya’ to the rising sun on Monday morning. During this period, tremendous enthusiasm was seen among the devotees. There was a gathering of fasting people and their families at the ghats since early morning. Earlier on Sunday, a crowd of people had gathered to offer prayers to the setting sun.
Everyone including Tundi MLA Mathura Prasad Mahato, police station in-charge Inspector Anil Kujur, CO Ravi Kumar were present at the ghat. Rajwar Social Reform Committee distributed fruits and milk for Chhath fasts. While social worker Amit Soni gave soup and coconut to the fasting people. During this time, the police administration was seen fully prepared at the ghat.
There was so much crowd of devotees at the ghat that there was not even room for people to step foot. However, the administration controlled the crowd better. Due to which the devotees and their families did not face any kind of problem. Prasad was distributed by Tundi Bazaar Chhath Puja Committee on Monday morning. During this, Suraj Jaiswal, Bunty Jaiswal of Chhath Puja Committee, Vinod Rajwar of Rajwar Social Reform Committee, Bablu Rajwar were seen very active.
