Appointment of 120 advocates in lower courts of Jharkhand

Ranchi: Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (Jhalsa) has appointed 120 legal and defense advocates (LADC) in civil courts. Training has also been provided to the defense lawyers appointed by Jhalsa. A Chief LADC, Assistant LADC and three other associate lawyers are included. Office and other necessary resources have also been made available for them in the Civil Court. It is said that an honorarium has been fixed for the defense advocate.

After two years, their work will be reviewed, on the basis of which they can be given extension. A large number of applications are reaching LADC. Jhalsa has received almost all the applications from the prisoners lodged in the jail. It has been sent to the concerned districts. It is noteworthy that there is a provision to provide free lawyer facility to those whose annual income is Rs 3 lakh. Women, disabled, old people etc. will get a free lawyer, no matter what class they belong to.
