Gorakhpur News: The anti-corruption team has arrested the billing clerk of the Electricity Corporation while taking bribe near Surajkund sub-centre in Tiwaripur area of the city. The anti-corruption team has caught the billing clerk taking a bribe of Rs 25,000. Sandeep, the clerk caught, works as a clerk in the newly created Surajkund subdivision. After arresting clerk Sandeep, the team brought him to Tiwaripur police station and is taking further action by registering a case against him. Billing clerk Sandeep was taking Rs 25,000 from the owner of the Aaro plant for reducing the electricity bill. Then the anti-corruption team caught him red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 25,000. Sandeep told the team that he was taking money on the instructions of the SDO. In this case, Executive Engineer of Bakshipur Division Atul Raghuvanshi said that information has been received about an employee being detained. The matter is being investigated. If we talk about the last one month, this is the third incident in which the anti-corruption team has arrested employees red handed while taking bribe.
Earlier, the anti-corruption team had arrested Chakbandi Lekhpal and a revenue employee in Gorakhpur Cantt police station area. Both of them were presented in the court from Cantt police station and sent to jail. This time the anti-corruption team has taken action against the electricity employee. He has been identified as Sandeep Gautam. He is posted as billing clerk at Surajkund power substation. In this case, the anti-corruption team said that the owner of a saw plant had complained about demanding a bribe, after which as per the team’s instructions, the consumer had come to pay Rs 25,000. On the other hand, as soon as the consumer gave the money to clerk Sandeep Gautam, the anti-corruption department caught him red-handed.
At first no one understood anything when the electrician was caught in this manner. That’s why some people opposed it. However, after getting information about the anti-corruption team, people retreated. Let us tell you that the electricity clerk was demanding money from the owner of the Aaro plant to reduce the electricity bill. The consumer did not want to pay the money. So he contacted the entry corruption team and gave them complete information. After this, the anti-corruption team laid a trap to catch him and caught the bribe-taking electrician red-handed while taking bribe. The team then took the electricity clerk to Tiwaripur police station, where a case was registered against him.
