Andhra Pradesh Scam: Chandrababu Naidu’s house custody petition rejected, allegation of corruption worth crores

A trial court in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh has arrested Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N in a case related to an alleged scam worth crores of rupees. A team of lawyers led by senior advocate Siddharth Luthra, representing Chandrababu Naidu, had on Monday filed a petition seeking to keep the former chief minister under house arrest, citing fear of danger. Naidu enjoys ‘Z-Plus’ category security.

Chandrababu Naidu is in judicial custody for 14 days

Naidu reached the jail after a journey of about 200 kilometers from Vijayawada to Rajamahendravaram in East Godavari district. East Godavari District Superintendent of Police P Jagadeesh said, Chandrababu Naidu reached the jail late on Sunday night at around 1.20 am.

Home cooked food, medicines and permission to stay in special room in jail

The facilities provided to Naidu by the court during judicial custody include home-cooked food, medicines and a special room. The 73-year-old former chief minister has been provided a separate accommodation inside the jail in view of the alleged possible threat to his life. Naidu’s son and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh accompanied his father to the jail gate and waited outside for some time before leaving.

Chandrababu Naidu accused of fraud of Rs 370 crore

Andhra Pradesh Additional Advocate General P Sudhakar Reddy said, this is a clear case of fraud of Rs 370 crore. Andhra Pradesh Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief N Sanjay had said that Naidu has been arrested in a fraud case related to alleged misuse of funds in the Skill Development Corporation, which caused a loss of Rs 300 crore to the state government.

Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by CID team on Saturday.

It is noteworthy that the CID team had arrested the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh at around 6 am on Saturday morning from outside the RK Function Hall at Gnanapuram in Nandyal city. Naidu was arrested while he was sleeping in his bus equipped with all facilities.

TDP calls Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest a conspiracy

A senior TDP leader had said on the social media platform ‘X’ that September 10 was the wedding anniversary of the Naidu couple and on September 9, the TDP chief was arrested illegally. A conspiracy was hatched to make him sit in the CID office overnight. He said that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy deprived the couple of the joy of their wedding anniversary.
