Aligarh News:The Department of Museology of Aligarh Muslim University has signed academic collaboration with two institutions, International Islamic University Malaysia and Hanyang University, Singapore under the leadership of Chairman Professor Abdurrahim. This historic step was taken during the International Annual Conference of the International Council of Museums-International Committee for Education and Cultural Action held in Singapore. Professor Abdurahim, in a special session on the Classroom of the Future at the Asian Civilization Museum in Singapore recently, spoke on the transformative potential of the Metaverse Museum using cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). He said here that the Singapore visit has yielded meaningful collaboration as Dr. Arita Hanim, Head of the Department of Applied Arts, Design and Conservation at the International Islamic University Malaysia, has expressed interest in academic collaboration with the Department of Museology of AMU. Similarly, Dr. Yunsoo Lee, distinguished professor of Hanyang University of Singapore, has also promised cooperation.
Academic cooperation will be formed between foreign higher education institutions
Professor Abdurrahim of Aligarh Muslim University has expressed hope that this international cooperation will promote new educational initiatives. He said that these agreements are in accordance with the University Grants Commission Regulation 2022, specifically ‘Academic Collaboration between Indian and Foreign Higher Education Institutions for the Offering of Degree Programs Regulation Notification’ and both parties received a notification and proposals to this effect which are providing a platform to formalize a Memorandum of Understanding.
International Islamic University ranks seventh in Malaysia. This university has high quality in terms of research output and academic publications. Its rank is 314 in Asian universities. Along with this, Hanyang University of Singapore also holds a good rank.
