More than 3000 bamboo artisans are associated with Isaf.

Insaaf Sanstha has been engaged in uniting the bamboo artisans of Jharkhand since 2008. This organization is working among the villagers by conducting surveys in 300 villages of Jharkhand. People of Turi, Parihar and Mahali communities were trained with the help of the government in Dumka, Gumla, Latehar, Ranchi, Bokaro and Dhanbad. After this, master trainers of bamboo were prepared, who are making important contribution in the production today. With the help of NABARD, CFC centers have been set up for artisans in Dumka. Here bamboo products are prepared through machines. The special thing is that more than 2000 types of bamboo products are made here. Baskets, lamps, show pieces, home decor, table mats, boxes, folders, bags, buckets and pots etc. can be seen in this. Apart from this, sofas, tables, corners are also prepared, the display of which can be seen in the project office located in Naya Toli of the capital. Jharcraft and TRIFED also have a collection of bamboo art. Bamboo art made by artisans is being sold online and offline with the help of Isaf. Artisans are getting employment. These products are also reaching foreign countries.

Jharkhand’s bamboo is very good for handicrafts

In the recent women’s conference held in Khunti, the Governor has praised the products of women artisans related to bamboo. Due to this, the confidence of the artisans has increased. Bamboo plantation is being done on five acres in Palkot of Gumla, so that more artisans can get employment from it. To promote bamboo craftsmanship, campus training in tribal art and bamboo art is being given in Sido-Kanho University. This training is given for six months. Experts say that the bamboos of Jharkhand are better for handicrafts, that is why bamboo art is flourishing here.

Light spreading from wooden lamps made in Bariatu

Deepali is running a handicraft industry in Bariatu area. His group is engaged in manufacturing bamboo products. The special thing is that people are getting employment by getting involved in bamboo work. Institutions related to bamboo products purchase from here at wholesale prices, which are also marketed online. In Bariatu, 20 artisans are making bamboo products every day. Mainly beautiful lamps are made here. An artisan makes one lamp every day. Today these products have even become recognized as trade fairs. The bamboo products prepared from here are reaching the country and the world.

Tribal women are getting empowered by selling dry flowers

Shanti Tirkey, a resident of Kokar, is known for her handmade dry flowers. The beauty of their handmade dry flowers is praised everywhere, be it festivals or trade fairs. In this, corn leaves, sola wood, tusu flowers are used. She has been participating in fairs organized across the country for 20 years. Shanti Tirkey, originally from Lohardaga, is the president of Oraon Mahila Samiti. 39 women from the tribal community are associated with this committee, who are making bamboo ornaments, pickles, papad and jute bags along with dry flowers. Shanti says: I started from the International Trade Fair in New Delhi. Our products are in great demand in Delhi. Stock runs out. We prepare products for sale in various fairs throughout the year. Due to this, tribal women are also becoming empowered.

Jabar is giving training to women in Laha

Jabar, a resident of Jaipur, has been making the women of Jharkhand self-reliant in lacquer cultivation for 20 years. the whole Jharkhand Are giving training to the women of Lah. With this, women are making lacquer bangles and also selling them themselves. The production center of Lac Handicraft Self-reliant Government Committee is in Khuti. Jabar himself lives in Kantatoli. Recently returned from Delhi Trade Fair, where he was awarded the first prize. Through his group, Jabar is also manufacturing lacquer bangles as well as lacquer vanity boxes, toys, elephants, camels and home decoration items. He says: Jharkhand’s lacquer is very rich. In such a situation, lacquer is being procured from places like Gumla and Simdega. Handicrafts are being sold.
