The Maruti Alto K10 hatchback scored 21.67 out of 34 points in the adult occupant testing and 3.52 out of 49 points in the child occupant safety test. The crash test model was loaded with front airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners and seatbelt load limiters. The body shell of the hatchback was rated as Stable. The Alto K10 was tested with a three-year-old dummy seated in a front-facing child seat with an adult seatbelt on and was not able to prevent excessive forward motion during the impact, which resulted in severe head injury. On the other hand, the 18-month-old child dummy was tested with a rear-facing child seat with adult seatbelts and showed good protection for the head, but weak protection for the chest.
