GoFirst: The airline Go First, which is facing severe economic crisis, has canceled all its flights till May 12. The company gave this information on Friday. The aviation company of the Wadia Group had filed a voluntary insolvency resolution petition before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). The tribunal had reserved its order while hearing this on Thursday.

All GoFirst flights cancelled: The airline GoFirst has written on its Twitter that all GoFirst flights scheduled till May 12, 2023 have been canceled due to operational reasons. Go First has said in the statement that the full amount will be refunded soon to the passengers who have booked the tickets.

The flight was canceled for the first time on May 3: Significantly, the airline had canceled its flights for three days from May 3. Later this time was extended to May 9 and now flights have been canceled till May 12. Aviation regulator DGCA said on Thursday that the airline has banned ticket sales till May 15. The DGCA has also directed the airline to return the passengers’ money as per rules.

Why the crisis arose for the airline company: Let me tell you, Go First started flying more than 17 years ago. The airline has said that more than half of its fleet is grounded due to non-supply of engines by Pratt & Whitney, which has led to the situation. The total liability on the airline is Rs 11,463 crore. This also includes the amount of Rs 3,856 crore that it has defaulted in repaying to operational creditors. The dues of aircraft leasing companies are Rs 2,600 crore.
