All children of Bihar are getting primary education, drop out rate in primary schools is zero.

Patna. All the children of the state are getting education in the primary schools of Bihar. No one is dropping out of school. This information has come out in the Economic Survey 2023-24 of Bihar Government. The survey states that the drop out rate in primary is zero. The Economic Survey report of Bihar government shows that the drop out rate even in upper primary schools has come down to only 2.77 percent in 2022-23. This is a positive sign.

40 percent drop in drop out rate

The drop out rate at the secondary level has declined by 40 percent between 2022-23 compared to 2015-16. The special thing is that in the year 2022-23, reversing all the earlier trends, the drop out rate of girls at upper primary and secondary level is very low. Also, between the year 2015-16 to 2022-23, the school dropout rate of girls at secondary level has decreased by 36.20 percent and the rate of boys has decreased by 42.54 percent.

Most schools in Patna, East Champaran and Gaya

The latest survey shows that the three best performing districts in terms of number of schools in the year 2022-23 are Patna (3876 schools), East Champaran (3563 schools) and Gaya (3537 schools). In contrast, the three districts with the least number of schools are 455 in Sheohar, 517 in Sheikhpura and 619 in Arwal.

Increase in education expenditure

Public expenditure on education in the state has increased at the rate of 11.2 percent in the last decade (2012-13 to 2022-23). According to the survey, public expenditure on education in the financial year 2012-13 was about Rs 14321.15 crore. Now in the year 2022-23 this expenditure on education has become Rs 43699.54 crore. If we look at the distribution of the total expenditure on education, it is found that during this period, revenue expenditure has increased by 2.9 times and capital expenditure by 7.4 times.

Appointment of teachers broke many records

In the government schools of the state, 1.95 lakh teachers have been appointed from BPSC in the first phase and 73281 teachers in the second phase. In this way, a total of 1.78 lakh teachers have been appointed in the state in 2023-24. In this, 63852 teachers have been appointed in classes one to five, 19621 teachers in classes six to eight, 37760 teachers in classes nine to 10 and 56696 teachers have been appointed in classes 11 and 12. Due to such a large number of appointments, the education system is now improving a lot.
