Won bronze medal in 10 thousand meters race
Gulveer Singh, who is serving as a Havildar in the Army, has won the bronze medal with a timing of 28:17 in the men’s 10 thousand meters event in the ongoing Asian Games – 2023 in Hangzhou, China. DM-SSP welcomed Gulveer Singh, who reached Tehsil Atrauli from Aligarh district, along with his father Pappu Singh in the Annexe building and wished him all the best for future competitions.
The number of medals can increase if youth get facilities.
Shamshad Nisar, Vice President of Uttar Pradesh Athletics Association, said that Gulveer Singh has returned home after winning the bronze medal. There is immense happiness among the people due to this. He told that the runner from Aligarh has won a medal. But this time there have been hundreds of medals in the Asian Games. He said that this is a good message for the players. If the youth get facilities and the government pays proper attention, then the number of medals can increase further. He said that the government will have to pay some attention, so that more and more talent will emerge in sports, before this India had won maximum 70 medals in the 2018 Asian Games.
