Akshay Kumar On Box Office Failure: The whole world is a fan of Akshay Kumar’s acting and his energy. He is quite a fitness freak. He has given many superhit films in his acting career, but today his movies are not earning much at the box office.
You must remember Akshay Kumar’s film Samrat Prithviraj. The film flopped miserably at the box office. Now after years, filmmaker Chandraprakash Dwivedi talked about this. The director, in his interview with a YouTube channel, revealed how Akshay Kumar was heartbroken after the debacle of Samrat Prithviraj, as he was hopeful of the film’s success.
The filmmaker said that both he and Akshay realized that they had made a mistake and that they should never tamper with history.
Stating that Akshay had tears in his eyes, Dwivedi said, “Akshay is a successful actor and he has a place in my life where I can criticize him in front of him.
He said, I not only criticized him in words, but I also wrote to him on email about this. However, all this never created tension in the relationship between Akshay and me.
Chandraprakash Dwivedi also claimed that whatever mistakes Akshay had pointed out in the film before its release were ignored. Talking about Aditya Chopra, he said, “People who get a producer like Aditya Chopra are very lucky. He is a sorted person who looks after the project.”
He said, he has his own point of view, and that was also regarding Prithviraj. He is not just a financier, he is also a creative person. He had some ideas which should have been discussed in the beginning. I think his and my view of history is completely different.
He said, Samrat Prithviraj was the biggest disappointment, but Akshay Kumar took the failure as his own and moved ahead. Let us tell you that apart from Akshay, Manushi Chhillar was also there in Samrat Prithviraj. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Manav Vij, Ashutosh Rana and Sakshi Tanwar in other important roles.
Samrat Prithviraj was released in theaters in the year 2022. The film is based on the Braj language epic Prithviraj Raso, on the life of Rajput king Prithviraj Chauhan of the Chahamana dynasty.
