Before this Congress meeting, party’s state president Akhilesh Prasad Singh met RJD chief Lalu Prasad. There was a long talk between the two. If JDU walks away from the India alliance, now the grand alliance will distribute seats in the state with new mathematics.

Congress state president Akhilesh Prasad Singh reached Rabri residence on Saturday to meet RJD supremo Lalu Yadav. The meeting between the two lasted for about half an hour. It is believed that amidst the changed equation in Bihar, political churning is taking place afresh. There is to be distribution of seats among the opposition parties. There is also a possibility of talks between the two leaders regarding Rajya Sabha elections. However, there has been no confirmation of this.

Congress sources say that the party is now preparing to contest elections on 15 seats in Bihar. Earlier, due to being with JDU, Congress had to struggle to get the desired number of seats. But, with JDU joining NDA, Congress is now trying to stake claim for more seats in the India alliance. Now the murmur regarding this has increased from Patna to Delhi.

On Saturday, Bihar Congress leaders held a meeting with its national president in Delhi. All 19 MLAs, 4 MLCs and one MP of the state were present in this meeting. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge along with the party’s state president and prominent leaders and officials discussed the possible seats in Bihar. It is being said that Congress is now brainstorming about those selected seats in Bihar on which the chances of their victory are high. The National President has also asked his MLAs to give a list. It is being said that Congress has started preparations to contest elections on 15 seats in the state. Party sources say that RJD is ready to give 12 seats.
