Air Pollution: Rules changed after ban on BS-3 and BS-4 vehicles in Noida, must update pollution certificate

Noida-Ghaziabad News: Even at the beginning of winter, the climate of most cities of UP has deteriorated. Its maximum impact is being seen in NCR. The AQI level here continues to remain above the danger mark. Other measures including water sprinkling do not seem to have any effect. Tuesday morning also started with fog. In such a situation, Noida Police has issued an advisory due to air pollution. In order to reduce pollution, a ban has been imposed on the operation of BS-3 and BS-4 vehicles. Apart from this, movement of medium and heavy diesel operated goods trains has also been banned. An appeal has also been made to the people to minimize the use of vehicles. In fact, Noida works as an important link in connecting Delhi with other states of the country by road. Due to this, about 10 to 12 lakh vehicles come here every day from other states or districts and go towards Delhi. DCP Traffic Anil Kumar Yadav said that about 20 to 25 lakh vehicles in the district travel towards Delhi every day. Most of these include BS-3 and BS-4 category vehicles.

CAQM standard compliance

On the lines of Delhi, Noida Traffic Police has deployed one team each on the border of Noida and has restricted the movement of BS-3 and BS-4 vehicles as well as medium and heavy diesel powered goods vehicles. DCP Traffic has decided the strategy by holding a meeting with all the ACPs, TIs and TSIs of his department including Pollution Control Board and Transport Department. Under this, it has been said that the standards of CAQM will be followed on priority. Electric and CNG operated goods carriers will not be stopped from traveling towards Delhi. Apart from this, goods vehicles connected to essential services will also be exempted from this.

The poisonous air of Ghaziabad city is making people sick. The number of patients has also increased by 30 percent. The Air Quality Index (AQI) has also reached close to 400. In view of the bad situation, DM Rakesh Kumar Singh has given instructions to take strict action against those who spread pollution. He said that people should use vehicles as little as possible, this will provide relief from pollution to some extent. Water is being sprinkled on roads and other public places in the morning and evening.

Along with this, instructions have been given to NHAI to deploy Assistant Engineer level officers at its plants. It should be decided that the plant should be operated as per the Acts. NHAI has been asked to place anti-smog guns near Lalkuan, Diamond Flyover Underpass and Tigri Cut on Delhi-Meerut Expressway. Swift action should be taken against the industries which are causing pollution, the factories which have chimneys should be checked whether they have scrubs installed or not.
