AICTE initiative opens doors to employment for girl students and disabled people.

  • To provide employment opportunities to disabled students, they will first be given training.

  • 37 hours of special training will also be provided to girl students of engineering colleges across the country.

  • With the help of IIT and IIM, teachers will be prepared according to the needs and challenges of the future.

AICTE Initiative: It will now become easier for students pursuing technical education in institutes across the country to get jobs. For this, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has partnered with Youth for Jobs Foundation of Hyderabad, Amazon Development Center (India) Private Limited, National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), IIT Madras, IIM Bengaluru and National Institute of Technical Teachers Training Research. (NITTTR) Chennai. All stakeholders signed the MoU at AICTE headquarters on Thursday. During this, AICTE President TG Sitaram, Member Secretary Prof. Rajiv Kumar, Advisor Dr. Mamta Rani Agarwal etc. were present.

AICTE Chairman TG Sitaram said that this initiative will greatly benefit engineering students in their careers. He said that the number of girl students in AICTE approved colleges is quite good. Among those taking admission, 35 to 40 percent are girls. This initiative of AICTE is also in line with the spirit of the National Education Policy. Earlier students had limited options for specialization but today they have unlimited options for specialization and employment in that field.

That is why now there have been major changes in the role of teachers also. Therefore, in collaboration with NPTEL and NITTTR, special training programs will also be run for teachers so that they can educate engineering students as per the future needs and challenges. AICTE has signed agreements with hundreds of big companies including Google, Meta and IBM for jobs. The Council has also launched internship portal, placement portal for students from rural and tribal areas as well as various courses for skill development of working professionals. Through these agreements signed today, new doors of employment have opened for our students.

Member Secretary of AICTE Prof. Rajeev Kumar said that the council is very sensitive towards the disabled, girls and children orphaned due to Corona. Employment-oriented courses are being run for such students. Students will also benefit greatly from this initiative of the Council. During this, Dr. Usha Natesan, Director of NITTTR, Prof. Dean of IIT Madras. Pratap Haridos, Colonel SD Arvendan, Chief Administrative Officer of IIM Bangalore, Suman Yadav from Amazon, Meera Sheroy from Youth for Jobs Foundation also presented their action plan.

This will be the benefit of the agreement

Under Amazon’s Women of the World program, girl students from engineering colleges across the country will be given 37 hours of special training which will focus on Data Research and Algorithms, Live Coding Advanced, Workshop on Leadership Skills, AWS Cloud Computing etc. The girl students who complete it successfully will get priority in internship and job in the company after completion of the course. At the same time, through the courses run by NPTEL and NITTTR, teachers will be prepared according to the challenges of the future. Through Youth for Jobs, disabled students from across the country will be prepared for jobs and they will be provided jobs through programs like Grassroot Academy, Divyang Shakti, College Connect etc.
