AI Regulation: There is no threat to jobs from Artificial Intelligence, IT Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said this

AI Regulation: Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology (IT) Rajeev Chandrasekhar has said that the government will regulate artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies from the point of view of the harm caused to users. Rejecting the possibility of loss of jobs due to the development of AI, Chandrashekhar said that there is no threat to jobs due to AI for the next few years, but it may happen in five-seven years.

Chandrasekhar said, our approach towards AI or any regulation is that we will control it from the point of view of harm to the user. It is a new philosophy, which started from 2014 that we will protect digital citizens. We will not allow forums that harm digital citizens. If they work here, they will reduce the loss of the user.

He was speaking at a program organized to share the achievements of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the nine years. He said that the visit of Sam Altman, founder of OpenAI, the company that created the AI-based platform ChatGPT, to India significantly indicates India’s potential in the field of emerging technologies.
