It was said that there was a possibility of technical glitch from the beginning. Investigation revealed that the mysterious woman seen in the photo was actually the couple’s 17-year-old son, who was sitting behind. According to reports, the AI cameras implemented six months ago to catch traffic crimes had inadvertently created an illusion that led to controversy and confusion.
The photo created an optical illusion
Initially, officials speculated that the misleading image may have been caused by a technical glitch, such as reflection or overlap of images. However, Mujib’s explanatory note clarified that the unique image was the result of pareidolia. This is a phenomenon where the brain interprets familiar shapes or objects in random patterns. The grayscale photo combined with the shadow inside the car created an optical illusion, making the 17-year-old boy appear to be an older woman.
