Agricultural scientists advise to use fodder made of zinc phosphide or aluminum phosphide cake in case of rat infestation. This will prevent the sawdust from damaging the crop. Farmers should collectively try to stop the rats. Wheat crop is almost ripe in Kannauj Hathras, Mathura, Agra, Etah, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Etawah, Auraiya, Kanpur city Unnao, Lucknow, Hardoi, Sitapur, Barabanki, Biri-Lakhimpur, Kashiramnagar.

Light irrigation will have to be done to remove the lack of moisture

Farmers have been advised to start threshing immediately by harvesting the matured wheat crops. Bales have to be tied immediately after harvesting the wheat crop. Otherwise, the lock may not blow away due to the strong wind. Threshing should be done in the evening or at night as the wind remains calm. Late sown wheat crop is in milk stage. Means the grain is filling. To overcome the lack of moisture, farmers have been advised to do light irrigation.

Cut the mustard as soon as 85 percent of the pods turn golden

Agricultural scientists have advised the farmers of Uttar Pradesh to harvest the mustard crop when 85 percent of the pods turn golden in colour. Also asked to collect the cut mustard crop and cover it with polythene sheet. This will protect the crop. Delay in harvesting the ripe crop of gram, peas, lentils can also cause losses to the farmers. When the crops of gram, peas, lentils are ripe, the grain starts falling from the beans.
