Agra: There will be route diversion on Hathi Ghat Road for idol immersion of Durga Maa and Dussehra, decision taken due to heavy crowd.

Agra News: Agra Due to the immersion procession and Dussehra Shobha Yatra on Durga Navami and Dussehra, the traffic police has once again made changes in the traffic arrangements on Hathi Ghat Road. According to the traffic police, this change will continue from 6:00 am on October 23 till October 24. Like Ganesh Chaturthi, the traffic police has also made preparations to deal with the traffic jams during the procession. The movement of all vehicles going from Water Works intersection via Yamuna Kinara Marg towards Shamshan Ghat intersection will be completely restricted for about 24 hours. According to the traffic police, on Monday, on Navami, devotees will immerse idols in Yamuna at Hathi Ghat, Balkeshwar Ghat, Kailash Ghat, Dussehra Ghat etc. In such a situation, route diversion will be done in view of the possibility of a large number of devotees gathering at Hathi Ghat on Yamuna river. Till the completion of idol immersion, no entry passes and permission letters already issued to vehicles will remain prohibited at the time of immersion of Durga idols on Yamuna Kinara Marg and Hathi Ghat.

Traffic arrangements in Agra – Vehicles bringing the statues will be allowed entry by placing a barrier on the Hathi Ghat railway bridge towards the fort. Other vehicles will be diverted towards the cremation ground intersection. Entry of all types of vehicles will be restricted on Strachey Bridge from Ettamuddaulah side. All the passenger vehicles diverted from Yamuna bank route will be able to travel through MG Road and the vehicles coming from Yamuna Expressway which have to go to Fatehabad Road, Taj Mahal Gwalior. All of them will reach their destination via Inner Ring Road from Fatehabad Road via Mall Road.

No commercial vehicle will come towards Belanganj from Ambedkar Yamuna Bridge Ettamdudaula. Commercial vehicles will be banned from Tiraha to Hathi Ghat on the banks of Yamuna near Belanganj Assistant Police Commissioner Chhatta office. Roadways buses, tourist buses and other commercial vehicles will not go from Agra Fort towards Hathi Ghat from Bijli Ghar intersection. And from Victoria Park Tiraha, no big vehicle, bus, tractor or truck will go towards Hathi Ghat on the banks of Yamuna.
