Agra: Bansi Chahar, accused of assaulting an ABVP student for protesting molestation in Jagdishpura area, had an encounter with the police late at night. The police arrested him in the encounter. Accused Bansi also got a bullet in the encounter. After which he was admitted to the hospital in an injured condition.
According to the information, on the afternoon of July 9, the accused Bansi Chahar, along with a student belonging to ABVP, carried out the incident of assault in Jagdishpura area. A video of the fight also went viral on social media. In which the accused is seen beating the domineering girl by kicking her on the ground. After this incident, ABVP workers blocked the Loha Mandi Bodla road. After which the police registered a case in this matter and started efforts to arrest the accused.
Police had received information about the accused
On Wednesday, ABVP workers demonstrated outside the office of DCP City Suraj Kumar Rai, demanding the arrest of the accused. In which the DCP assured to arrest the accused soon. DCP City Suraj Kumar Rai told that along with the police team under the leadership of ACP Loha Mandi Deeksha Singh, City SOG was also deployed. Late night police got the news that Bansi was hiding in Bichpuri area. From there he was trying to leave the city and run away. On information, the police laid a trap to catch him.
The bullet hit the leg of the accused in the encounter
Police was checking to catch Banshee. Meanwhile, when Bansi saw the police, he tried to run away and started firing at the police team. After which the police also fired for their self-defense and a bullet hit Bansi’s leg. Whoever fell on the spot has been admitted to the hospital in an injured condition.
