Agra: Sewer filth found in drinking water, women reach Jal Nigam office, complain to CDO

Agra: Hundreds of regional people along with advocate Suresh Chand Soni came to protest at the office of Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam at Sanjay Place regarding the water and sewer problem in Jagdishpura area. Even before that all the officers of the office disappeared from the spot. After which all these people reached Vikas Bhawan and met Chief Development Officer A. Manikandan and explained their problems. In which social worker Suresh Chand Soni accused the company doing the work of sewer line of irregularities and corruption. Also told that the sewer and water pipeline has been put together by the company. Due to which dirty sewer water is coming in people’s homes along with drinking water. Regional people are getting sick.

In Rajnagar and all the surrounding settlements of Jagdishpura area, the public is greatly troubled by the sewer and water problems. Dirty sewer water is coming along with the drinking water in the house. Because of which people are not even able to do their daily work. They say that if water is needed for cooking, then it has to be filled from far away at night with a head pump. The taps that are installed in the house. Dirty and smelly water is coming in it. Which is a far-fetched thing to eat. Cannot be used even in bath. Today we have reached the Jal Nigam office regarding this problem.

Advocate Suresh Chand Soni says that about Rs 3000 crore was sanctioned for laying sewer line and water line under the scheme of the central government. But the company to which this work has been given. He has done many irregularities in the construction work. Sewer and water pipelines are put together. And all these pipelines have been laid by digging only 6 inches from the ground. Because of which whenever there is leakage of sewer line. So all the dirty water reaches the water pipeline. Along with water or dirty water reaches people’s homes. Thousands of people are struggling with this problem for a long time. But none of them are being heard.

Suresh Soni told that the authorities were informed about this problem several times. Action was demanded against the concerned contractor’s company for irregularities and corruption. But no action has been taken so far. While information has been received that 50% payment has been made to the company.

Today, when hundreds of people of Jagdishpura area reached the Jal Nigam office regarding their problems, all the officers present in the office had already disappeared. Because of which the people of the region met the Chief Development Officer A. Manikandan and explained their problems. He has said to investigate the matter soon and take action. Chief Development Officer A. Manikandan says that the concerned officials will be called and an inquiry will be conducted regarding the problems pointed out by the regional people. If any irregularity or negligence is found in this work, then strict action will be taken.
