Let us tell you that the supply of 350 MLD Ganga water to Agra from Palda Fall of Bulandshahr is affected, due to which on Tuesday, there was heavy rain in many areas including Tajganj, Jeevan Mandi, Belan, Peepal Mandi, Kala Mahal, Dhuliaganj, Daresi, Chhatta, Trans Yamuna. Water could not be supplied. People had to arrange water for essential works either through tankers or with the help of head pumps and submersible pumps.

In Agra, the people of the city require about 422 MLD of water. The Water Department claimed to run and supply 105 MLD to Sikandra MBBR plant. But, still there was no supply in areas like Bodla, Shahganj, Loha Mandi, Khandari, Kamla Nagar, Balkeshwar, Raja Mandi, Gokulpura etc.

Amidst the problems, people have to struggle to arrange water for domestic work. On the other hand, water has to be purchased from private tankers. People have to pay Rs 200 per drum of Rs 100 to buy water. Meena, a resident of Trans Yamuna Colony B Block, said that water is not being supplied for two-three days. But, somehow water was arranged from the submersible pump installed in the park. Today is the festival of Karva Chauth, there is a fast and there is so much work, even in such a situation one has to rush to arrange water.

GM of Water Works Department Kuldeep Singh says that water is being supplied at more capacity from the MBR plant. But, this is not enough in water crisis. Water supply from Palda is being increased and it has reached 90 cusecs. Water will start being available from Wednesday evening and the situation will become normal by Thursday.
