Agra: A massive fire broke out in Daily Needs, the fire brigade brought it under control, know the incidents of arson that took place on the festival night in the city.

A fire broke out at the GS Daily Needs shop in Sector 12 of Awas Vikas Colony at 5:00 am. Due to the fire, goods worth lakhs of rupees kept in the shop were burnt to ashes. The shop owner’s family lives upstairs. He was not injured in the accident and is safe. However, the fire was controlled on the spot. Short circuit is being said to be the cause of fire in the shop.

Fire brigade brought the fire under control

Manish Gupta, director of GS Daily Needs, said that he closed the shop after sales etc. on Diwali night. His father went out for a walk at four in the morning. Till then everything was safe. When he returned around five o’clock, smoke was coming out of the shop. He immediately informed the family about this. By the time the shop was opened to see where the short circuit had occurred, the fire had increased. The fire brigade was immediately informed. Fire brigade vehicles brought the fire under control. By then the entire goods of the shop were burnt to ashes.

There are more shops nearby

There is a warehouse in the basement below his shop, where the entire stock of the shop is kept. The fire brigade vehicles that came after the fire sprayed water. Water filled the basement, causing damage to the entire stock. There was talk of installing a machine to draw water, but today because of the holiday no one is available to draw water. GS Daily Needs is a home based shop. Shops are also open in other houses nearby. There are shops of daily needs, clothes, gajak etc. on both sides of the shop. In most of the houses, the people running the shops below live upstairs. After the fire, the shop got burnt but the family is safe.
