This is the reason why maize cultivation is more here. Maize and banana are cultivated in many places here. Due to lack of rain, most of the farmers have planted maize here. 83 percent paddy planting in Patna

Irrigation is also being taken care of, so that the farmers do not face any kind of problem. Paddy has been planted up to 83 percent in the capital Patna.

102 percent paddy planting in Purnia

Rainfall in Bihar is moving fast towards normal. Bihar received an average of 48 mm of rain between Tuesday and Wednesday. This is the highest rainfall in a day of this season. Bihar has received 391.5 mm of rain till Wednesday. Now it is only 32% less than normal. According to the forecast of IMD, the rainy season will continue in Bihar. Monsoon is taking care of the worries of the farmers. A record 102 percent paddy has been planted in Purnia. The lowest 41.39 percent plantation has been done in Munger. Rainfall has decreased by 58 to 99% in Gopalganj, Saran, Saharsa, Motihari, Shivhar and Sitamarhi. Paddy cultivation has been ruined in Banka and Munger divisions.

Continuous growth in paddy cultivation continues

According to the Agriculture Department, paddy cultivation is continuously increasing in the state. According to the Agriculture Department, maximum 102 percent paddy has been planted in Purnia division. 97 percent paddy has been sown in Saharsa division, 87 percent in Tirhut and 79.39 percent in Patna division. The lowest 41.39 in Munger division, only 44.5 percent paddy has been sown in Magadha. In Patna division, 50.68 percent paddy has been sown the lowest in Nalanda district. At present the condition of paddy cultivation in Munger and Banka is very bad. So far 75.24 percent paddy has been planted in the state. Catching the pace of wheat farming will benefit those farmers whose crops were getting ruined. The farmers were at loss due to less rain. But, now farmers will not be harmed due to excessive or normal farming.

Up to 99 percent less rain in six districts

The condition of paddy sowing in Gopalganj, Saran, Saharsa, Motihari, Shivhar and Sitamarhi is not good. According to the Agriculture Department, these six districts have received 58 to 99 per cent less rainfall. At the same time, the entire state has received 39 percent less rainfall than normal. In view of the situation of less rainfall, 4590 quintals of maize seeds have been distributed free of cost by the Agriculture Department in nine districts of the state. These include Banka, Jamui, Munger, Gaya Lakhisarai Nawada, Nalanda, Bhagalpur and Sheikhpura.
