Sarhasa. After the successful experiment of tea cultivation in Purnia division of Bihar, now tea cultivation is being started in Kosi division also. After Kishanganj, now tea cultivation is starting in other places including the border areas of Supaul district. For this, farmers will also be given assistance from the government. Along with tea, an action plan is being prepared to give a new shape to the cultivation of Makhana and maize in Kosi division. Maize cultivation will also get a boost. Giving information about the meeting, the District Agriculture Officer said that instructions have been given to start tea cultivation in Supaul district. He said that farmers will get subsidy for cultivating tea.

Inspection of Custom Hairing of Saraigarh

Agriculture Secretary of Bihar Government, Sanjay Kumar Aggarwal gave information in this regard in a meeting with departmental officers and personnel at Kosi Inspection Building. On his way to Kishanganj, he stayed in Bhaptiyahi for some time and during this he inspected the custom hairing of Saraigarh. In custom farming, agriculture related equipment is made available to the farmers on rent, so that even small farmers can do farming easily.

Makhana cultivation will be given a new look

During the review meeting in the courtyard of Kosi Inspection Building Bhaptiyahi, the District Agriculture Officer said that Makhana cultivation in the area will be given a new shape. Till now, the farmers associated with its cultivation have been doing the work of planting makhana in ponds, but it will be given a ridge model. Now bunds will be made in the fields and Makhana will be planted in them and it will be in the interest of the farmers. The District Agriculture Officer said that maize farming will also be promoted across the district. Apart from this, farmers will be made more aware about oilseeds, pulses and other farming, for which instructions have been given.

Farming will be done on land suitable for tea

He told that in the meeting the Agriculture Secretary has given instructions for maximum progress in the field of agriculture. The District Agriculture Officer said that after getting information about the land suitable for tea, the farmers there have to be motivated to cultivate it. Earlier, during the inspection of Custom Hairing located in Saharsa, the Agriculture Secretary saw tractors, rotavator machines and others and took information about their use. During the inspection, the Agriculture Secretary inquired from the District Agriculture Officer Amit Kumar about the agricultural equipment available in Custom Hairing.
