After Karizma XMR 210, now Hero eyes on premium segment, know full detail

New Delhi : After introducing the Karizma XMR 210 in the Indian bike market on Tuesday, Hero MotoCorp is now eyeing the premium bike segment. It is reported that the country’s leading two-wheeler company Hero MotoCorp is planning to launch new models as well as revamp the sales network to increase its share in the premium bike segment in the domestic market.

Hero will introduce a new product every three months

Hero MotoCorp Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Niranjan Gupta said that in the premium bike segment, the company is trying to bring a new product every quarter for the next one year. The company’s share in this segment is only 4-5 per cent. He said that our activity in the premium bike segment has just started. The company wants to build a complete portfolio of premium products very quickly and this work is being done.

Karizma XMR 210 launched in the market

Let us tell you that Hero MotoCorp has re-introduced its old brand ‘Karizma’ on Tuesday. The bike Karizma XMR of this brand has been launched at an initial price of Rs 1.72 lakh. It is equipped with 210cc engine. The premium bike segment in India with engine capacity ranging from 150cc to 450cc is growing at a rate of 20-25 per cent annually, but Hero MotoCorp, a giant in the riding motorcycle segment, is lagging behind. The company wants to reach this market in the coming time.

Hero MotoCorp will open 800 sales centers

According to media reports, Hero MotoCorp plans to open 800 sales centers in the next eight quarters to increase its reach in the premium motorcycle segment. Niranjan Gupta said that most of these stores will be upgraded versions of existing stores. In addition, exclusive stores will also be opened in the next four quarters.

Hero Karizma was first introduced in 2003

Hero Karizma continues to be one of the most successful products ever in the Indian motorcycle market. It was first introduced in 2003 under the collaboration between Honda and Hero MotoCorp. The Karizma continues to be sold in the market till January 2019. Changing technologies and declining sales in the last decade forced Hero MotoCorp to eventually discontinue the motorcycle. However, the popularity of the Karizma never waned, which prompted the two-wheeler manufacturer to bring the legendary bike in a new avatar.

The new Hero Karizma XMR 210 looks sportier and more attractive than its predecessor. However, the signature styling elements are visible in the new model as well, blended with advanced technology and modern features.

Karizma XMR 210: Price

Hero Karizma XMR 210 has been launched at an initial price of Rs 1,72,900 (ex-showroom). After the initial offer is over, the price is expected to go up to around Rs. 2 lakh. Also, Hero MotoCorp has announced that the bike will be available for bookings from August 29 afternoon.

Karizma XMR 210: Design

Hero Karizma XMR 210 has aggressive styling, which makes it attractive to look at. It gets sharp and sleek looking LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. The turn indicators and tail lamps also come with LED touch. The sporty bike gets a slightly raised adjustable front wind guard while the massive fuel tank gives it a distinct feel. The fuel tank gets some smooth folds, which help in the aerodynamic efficiency of the bike.

Karizma XMR 210: Color Options

The semi-fairing is similar to the previous Karizma model. It has a split seat layout. The rear seat is raised and the narrow sleek tail section adds more style to the bike. The Karizma XMR 210 features a fully digital color LCD display, which comes with Bluetooth connectivity and first-in-segment turn-by-turn navigation technology. It will be available in three different color options. This includes Iconic Yellow, Matte Red and Phantom Black.

Karizma XMR 210: Engine & Specifications

Hero Karizma XMR 210 is powered by a new power mill. Powering the bike is a 210 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 25.15 bhp of maximum power and 20.4 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox for transmission duties.
