After becoming the President of CII Northeast India, SK Behera shared the roadmap of development with ‘BollywoodWallah’.

Jamshedpur: Now the pace of development will increase in the north-eastern states of India. Jharkhand can play a leading role in this, provided the governments of the North-Eastern states work with their commitment towards industrial development. CII is also ready to work together. After becoming the President of Eastern Region of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), SK Behera said these things in a special conversation with BollywoodWallah. Shri Behera also shared all the information about his roadmap of development and future plans of CII. He is also the Vice Chairman cum Managing Director (MD) of RSB Group.

Need to work on infrastructure in Jharkhand
SK Behera said that there is a lot of potential in North-East India. Now North, South and West India have developed and expanded. A lot of work has been done here. Right now there is immense potential in North-East India itself. Odisha state is developing very fast. Work is going on very fast in the service sector in Bengal, but there is a need to invite entrepreneurs and businessmen to set up industries there. CII is ready to provide all possible help to bring forward the investment of industries in Bihar. At the same time, work is being done at a fast pace in Assam too, which is praiseworthy. Work is going on at a rapid pace in the construction sector, through which rapid development will be possible. New Raipur has also expanded in Chhattisgarh and is still growing further. Along with the development of new cities, emphasis will also have to be laid on establishing industries so that development can take place. For this, CII finds a way out by holding meetings with the governments of all the states at different levels.

Jharkhand government should give subsidy to industries
Sharing his thoughts on the development of Jharkhand, Mr. Behera said that there is a need to implement an action plan for development in Jharkhand. The way states like Odisha and Tamil Nadu are giving subsidy of up to 30 percent, by giving that kind of subsidy to industries, people will set up industries in these states. Especially there is a need to take the engineering sector forward. Giving such subsidy will not only provide relief to the industrialists, but the governments will also benefit in revenue. If any company is involved, it will get benefits in other taxes including GST.

Airport is necessary for the development of Jamshedpur
CII Eastern Zone Chairman Mr. Behera said that airport is most important in Jamshedpur. Hundred year old companies are here. This is the backbone of North-East India. An airport is being built in an area like Rairangpur in Odisha. But airport is not being built in Jamshedpur. Industries are facing problems due to this. Development is being eclipsed. He said that the plan for integrated development of AIDA should be implemented on the ground. The work that is going on here regarding roads and infrastructure should be given to global companies so that the work can be improved. Apart from this, if another company like Tata Motors is established here, then the pace of development will be faster. Many other industries will be able to be set up. For this, CII is ready to provide all possible cooperation.
