Adhik Maas 2023: Worship of Lord Shiva, Jalabhishek as well as Somwari Vrat have special importance in the month of Sawan. There is a law to observe fast on every Monday falling in Sawan. Generally, the number of Somwari fast in Sawan is 4-5. But this time, due to the extra month, there will be a total of 8 Mondays in Savan, in which 4 will be of Savan and 4 of Adhikamas. Due to the extra month, this year Sawan will be of two months and the Somwari fast of Sawan will also be completed in two phases. In this, the first phase will be from 04 July to 17 July. According to the Panchang, during these 15 days, the Krishna Paksha of the month of Sawan will be there. After this, the Shukla Paksha of the month of Sawan will be from 17th August to 31st August for the next 15 days. It will be valid to observe the fast of Sawan Somwari on the Monday falling in the dates of these two phases.
