Agra. Under Engineer Manoj Mishra of Agra Development Authority (ADA) has been suspended for taking bribe. ADA’s vice-president Charishat Gaur has set up a departmental inquiry. If found guilty in the investigation, a case will be registered. This action has been taken on the complaint of a girl resident of Pratiksha Enclave of Dayalbagh.

Radhe Krishna Awasthi had applied in ADA for compounding of the house in Pratiksha Enclave of Dayalbagh which comes under New Agra police station area. This area is under the jurisdiction of Junior Engineer Manoj Mishra. Manoj Mishra started demanding additional fees apart from compounding fees. It is alleged that Manoj Mishra had asked for a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh. The junior engineer started harassing in different ways for illegal recovery. He came to the site and started influencing the construction work.
Complaint was given to VC on Saturday
When Junior Engineer Manoj Mishra continued to harass, Radhe Krishna Awasthi’s daughter Preeti Awasthi reached Agra Development Authority on Saturday to complain to the higher authorities. Here he gave his application to the authority’s vice-chairman Charisan Gaur. When did the Junior Engineer demand for how many rupees, the information was shared with the ADA VC in detail along with the proof. On the complaint, an order was issued to suspend Manoj Mishra.
Complaint many times, action taken now
The original appointment of Manoj Mishra is in Municipal Corporation. He is on deputation to Agra Development Authority. He has been serving in the enforcement team for years. Authority was taking action against illegal constructions in Chatta Ward in the past, at that time also Manoj Mishra’s name came up in controversies, some complaints had also reached VC.
