Action should be taken against the culprits of lathicharge on traders, Seraikela Chamber made this demand to Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan.

Seraikela: Seraikela Kharsawan District Chamber President Premchand Aggarwal said that he strongly condemns the brutal lathicharge on traders by JNAC officers and employees while removing encroachment. This type of action is not acceptable under any circumstances. He said that even the pedestrians were not spared during the lathi charge. The Chamber strongly opposes this lathicharge. General Secretary Manoj Kumar Chaudhary has demanded action from the Governor against the culprits. Secretary Akash Aggarwal called it a malicious action.

Demand for action from the Governor
General Secretary Manoj Kumar Choudhary has demanded from the Governor that this incident should be immediately investigated and action should be taken against the officials responsible for it. He said that traders do their business by paying taxes for the all-round development of the nation and the state and such action against them is highly condemnable. The Chamber is not the protector of encroachment, but if the administration felt it was urgent then first notice should have been issued to the shopkeepers and by announcing through the mike the traders should have been given time to remove their goods, but without doing so directly. Removing the encroachment and lathi-charging the shop owners who came forward to protect their goods reveals their pre-planned intention. The Chamber will not tolerate this at all.

Lathi charge carried out out of ill will
Chamber Secretary Akash Aggarwal described it as an action taken with ill-will and as part of a well-thought-out strategy. He has asked JNAC officials to what extent is it right for the administration to adopt a two-pronged approach towards encroachment?
