Accident in Tata Steel’s LD One

Jamshedpur: Contract employee Bablu Gop (27) died due to burn injuries due to hot slag falling on his body during lance jam cutting in Tata Steel’s LD One on Friday morning. The deceased was a resident of Purulia and an employee of contract company Abreast Engineering. Along with informing the family members of the deceased about the incident, the contract company management has also promised to give immediate compensation to the family of the deceased. The safety department of Tata Steel Company has started investigation into the incident. Information about the incident has also been shared with the factory inspector. The factory inspector will also investigate the incident.

According to the information, Bablu Gop was doing lens jam cutting work in LD One. At the same time, hot slag fell on his body, causing burns. He was picked up by the rescue team along with fellow employees and immediately taken to TMH, where he died during treatment. It is said that most of his body was burnt, due to which he died.

Tata Steel management expressed grief over the incident. Tata Steel management has issued an official statement expressing condolence over the incident. It is said that the company stands with the family of the deceased in this hour of grief. Its report was immediately given to the authority.
