Aligarh : Husband and wife who were applying insecticide in the garden in village Mohanpur under Akrabad police station area of Aligarh died after coming under the grip of high tension line. At the same time, there was a stir in the village after the incident and the police was informed, on the information of the incident, the police reached the spot and took the dead bodies of both and sent them for postmortem. Police is engaged in advance action.
Wife died in an attempt to save her husband
According to the information received, Resham Pal Singh, a resident of Mohanpur village, along with his wife, was applying insecticides in the guava orchard. During this, he came under the grip of high tension line. Hearing the screams of the husband, wife Geeta Devi went to save him but she too got electrocuted. Both husband and wife died on the spot. On knowing about the incident, the villagers ran towards the spot and informed the police. On the information of the incident, the police reached the spot and took the dead bodies of both and sent them for postmortem. Police is engaged in advance action. The deceased couple has 3 children Deva, Sharad and Riya. The deceased Resham Pal lived in a house built on the farm itself. Used to work by taking guava orchards and fields on lease.
The family accused the electricity department of negligence
Jitendra Kumar, the brother of the deceased, told that the accident was due to the negligence of the electricity department. The wire had fallen off and was not connected in time. Resham Pal had gone with his wife to apply medicine in the guava garden, after touching the wire, sister-in-law reached to save Geeta, both husband and wife died due to electrocution. They have 2 boys and a girl. Akrabad police station in-charge MP Singh told that after reaching the spot, the family members of the deceased have been interrogated. The same dead body has been sent for postmortem after doing panchnama.
